Alone in the lift - 26 October 2008

Date: 26 October 2008

Zensen entered the lift at the LRT station alone. I told him to hold it open but he pressed the 2nd floor. The lift door closed and I panic.

Mission Accomplished!

My eyes are going to drop out soon. I have been at the computer for the past 4 hours. Finally I have updated my blog (although I should have written more) and uploaded our photos (http://hengz.spaces.live.com). It has only been possible for the boys have not been home yesterday night and today and I can work on my Spaces with a peace of mind. Whew! Party Mission accomplished!

Mother-In-Law's 53rd Birthday - 19 October 2008

Date: 19 October 2008
Venue: In-Law's House

Today is MIL's 53rd birthday and we celebrated it with a steamboat dinner at their house.

The boys love birthdays and Zensen is getting very good at singing the birthday song (English version followed by Chinese version). Zenneth can clap along to the tune and he was so enchanted by the candles.

Watching DVD - 19 October 2008

Date: 19 October 2008
Venue: Home, Living Room

Did I mention that my boys love to watch the TV? Yes, the best way to get them on camera is to switch on their shows (VCDs/DVDs) and they will stay at their place (for a while).

Zensen's Orientation Day - 18 October 2008

Date: 18 October 2008

Today is Zensen's Orientation Day at his new school. The school which he will be attending next year, for his Nursery 2 (N2) lessons. Shu San gave us a ride as she is bringing her son, Jovan there as well. Jovan will be in the same class as Zensen and I'm glad that my boy will have a friend with him from the first day.

I took some pictures of the children while Shu San is parking the car. The kids are friends and have known each other since last year. Karin is the little girl in the photos below. She is a year older than Zensen and Jovan but she likes to play with Zensen and would even prefer to hold his hands than her own brother's hand.

I love the environment as it is spacious and airy. There is even a huge playground which Zensen wasted no time in trying it out.

The boys (Zensen & Jovan) are checking out the entrance of their classroom below.

Here's my boy! All decked in his uniform and new school shoes. Standing as proud as a peacock.

Zenneth - 15 October 2008

Date: 15 October 2008
Venue: Home, Living Room

My little one has grown so much and tonight when I saw him in his little yellow chair watching his baby show, I can't help but ran to grab my camera and took his photos.

He looks so serious, so adorable, so huggable... my little one.

Zenneth @ MMI - 11 October 2008

Date: 11 October 2008
Venue: MMI

Zenneth enjoys sending Zensen to school and the time he can spend at the school's playground while Zensen is in class. Today, I let him play during and after Zensen's class cos when Zensen's lesson ends, I feel that he should spend some time playing with his younger brother.

Bedtime - 10 October 2008

Date: 10 October 2008
Venue: Home, Bedroom

The boys have a bedtime routine. They will change into their pyjamas and then read their books (on loan from the library) before drinking their milk and then sleep. Sometimes when we are in the mood and I still have the energy, I will cajole them to take photos with me with the camera on timer mode.

Istana - 1 October 2008

Date: 1 October 2008
Venue: Istana

1st October 2008 happens to be Hari Raya Puasa on top of Children's Day. The Istana is open to the public due to the public holiday and I took the opportunity to bring the boys there for a visit. I have not been there before in my 32 years and I thought it would be a nice way to spend the day.

The place was crowded. I was quite disappointed cos there wasn't much to see. However, the boys were overjoyed cos there was a special playground filled with Little Tikes slides and swings for the day.

Mummy's High Heels - 29 September 2008

Date: 29 September 2008
Venue: Home

The boys have been very curious about my high heels as their shoes do not have the height nor sound when they walked. They decided to try on my heels.

Sunday School - 28 September 2008

Date: 28 September 2008
Venue: Church, Sunday

The boys attended Sunday School today. It's Zenneth 1st visit to Sunday but it's Zensen 2nd time (I think). I am a free thinker but I brought the boys here as Jordan & Kai En are attending this Sunday School and I like the values taught. Today is extra special as they are celebrating Children's Day.

Jacob Ballas Children's Garden - 21 September 2008

Date: 21 September 2008
Venue: Jacob Ballas Children Garden

We went to Jacob Ballas Children's Garden again. This time we entered by the Bukit Timah entrance and the entrance direct to Jacob Ballas Children's Garden. The boys love the place! Highly recommended for children. It's a super place to spend the day.

They had so much fun on the suspension bridge.

20 September 2008 - MMI

Date: 20 September 2008
Venue: MMI

20 September 2008 is a date to remember cos that is the day I brought the boys out alone, on my own, without the maid or MIL or husband. It's an accomplishment cos the boys are still young and Zenneth can be quite a handful.

I pushed Zenneth in the Combi stroller and discovered that this stroller has a standing feature for Zensen to stand behind. I pushed the boys and walked to Zensen's school (MMI) for his Phonics class. The boys are very well behaved and did not give me any trouble. Yippee! They are growing up to be more managable and sensible and I am becoming more independent handling my boys.

SingaporeFlyer- 17 September 2008

Date: 17 September 2008
Venue: Singapore Flyer

I was granted child leave today and I brought the boys and my mum to the Singapore Flyer. Zensen and I have been there with Lynn & Chua's family but Zenneth and my mum have not been. I have a special promotion, i.e. fly or free. I didn't pay for Zensen & Zenneth as children under 3 fly for free too. Just paid for mum and that's with a 25% discount.

It is great to visit the place on a weekday as there wasn't any crowd and we even have the whole capsule to ourselves. The boys had a fantastic time, jumping and climbing up the bench.

Botanic Gardens - 7 September 2008

Date: 7 September 2008
Venue: Botanic Gardens

I brought the boys to Botanic Gardens today. We took a bus and Zenneth got very restless on the trip. I had wanted to bring them to the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden but we went in by the main entrance and we had a super long walk. It took us hours to reach the other side of the garden.

Zensen was very comical. He took a map from the stand and said that he is going to see how to get there.

Day 2 - 2nd September 2008

Day 3 - 3rd September 2008

Genting Highlands (1-3 September 2008)

Dates: 1, 2 & 3 September 2008
Venue: Malaysia, Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands is our holiday spot for these 3 years cos it's near, cheap and lots of rides for the kids.

We stayed at Theme Park Hotel this time round. It's Zensen's 4th trip there. We stayed at Resort Hotel during our 1st trip and then First World Hotel during the 2nd & 3rd trips. Theme Park Hotel was chosen due to the floor size for the room and the double beds. Zensen was so excited that he jumped from bed to bed to sofa and we even took a picture on the bed.

I arranged and planned with my colleague (Shu San) to Genting Highlands. Although they set off 2 hours earlier than us but we managed to overtake them before Muar cos their Wish was packed to capacity (cos Shu San brought her 3 kids and maid and mother and MIL).

The 2nd day, we arranged to meet to play at Outdoor Theme Park together and the first ride was at Dinosaur Land. We took a boat ride to enter the cave and there was animations and lightings and dinosaurs appeared. Karin (Shu Shan's eldest child) was so scared that she cried. Zensen said he was scared too but luckily didn't cry as I was explaining to him about the dinosaurs.

Zensen tried on new rides as he is older and taller now. These are the new things he tried.

We went back for a nap and then came back and played till the park closed.

Zensen & Roti Prata (30 August 2008)

Date: 30 August 2008

Zensen is very into roti prata now. His favourite food is actually egg and so he loves to eat egg roti prata. He's okay with attending Phonics lesson on his own now as I will tell him that I will go to the food court and order roti prata for him which will be ready after his lesson.
Check out my boy enjoying his food after his lesson.

Gathering (24 August 2008)

Date: 24 August 2008
Venue: Boon In's Place @ CCK

I meet Boon In at Rail Mall last week and we found that there's so much catching up to do and the kids have not met for so long. So, we arranged for a gathering and she had graciously opened her house for it.

The kids have grown and they can play together without much supervision now.

Kiddy Ride (24 August 2008)

Date: 24 August 2008

This is one of the few occasions where I gave money for the boys to have the kiddy ride. I'm not the kind of parent who will let them take the rides often. I will just tell them that I don't have the money or I didn't bring money and they are just satisfied with just being on the car/animal/vehicle and without the motion or music. When I'm done with whatever I'm doing, I will just ask them to get down and to follow. Today I gave them the pleasure of ridding on the car cos they had been so good and it's quite worth it cos I'm paying for one ride but both boys can be on it together.

Zensen the Cow

Date: 22 August 2008

I bought a cow suit for Zensen today. It's to be worn in cold places cos the material is very thick. Zensen wanted to put it on and pretended to be a cow on all fours and even eating grass (imagery) at the corner of in-law's living room. Zenneth joined in the fun and rode on the 'cow'.

Night Safari (21 August 2008)

Date: 21 August 2008
Venue: Night Safari

Lawrence and I brought the boys to the Night Safari. I received e-coupons for 50% discount off the admission charges and I made Lawrence promised to bring us on his off day. He hates to walk (go for outings or shopping) and so if it wasn't for the 50% discount and I paying for it, he wouldn't have agreed. Guess what we made another record. We were at the Night Safari for only the tram ride and after the ride, Lawrence declared that it's time to go home. That's less than an hour! What a waste of money! However the boys love it cos they have been seeing the animals in their books and on the television and it's a great experience to see them close and during the night. Zensen kept saying that we were in the jungle.
Luckily we managed to get this shot and Lawrence bought it cos Zensen likes it so much.

Father & Sons

Date: 13 August 2008

Check out the hunks in my bedroom, half naked somemore! Surprised

Haircuts (6 August 2008)

Date: 6 August 2008

The boys had their hair cuts at our neighbourhood hair salon. It's Zenneth's 3rd haircut in 18 months. He hates to have his hair cut. In fact the 2nd hair cut experience was terrifying for him. The Father and Grandmother brought him without knowing that he's terrified of hair dryer and the hairdresser used it to blow his hair away from his shoulder. Boy! He threw a super big trantrum.

This time around the hairdresser was pretty quick in getting the job done and I was prepared. I was armed with toys and biscuits for him. He looks more boyish after the cut. Don't look like a girl now (people had been saying he's very pretty because of his eyes).
